Preparing your business now and for the future amid COVID-19

As we all brace for the short-and long-term impacts of COVID-19, we wanted to take a moment to share what we are doing for our valued clients, offer resources and tips for your business during this challenging time, and share ideas to prepare for the future.

The Stack Group Inc. is fully prepared to continue to service client’s needs remotely. While some of our in-person meetings have been changed to phone or virtual meetings, we are equipped to provide you with uninterrupted service. We understand that our client’s businesses are all affected in different ways and we standby ready and able to support in any way that we can.

During this unprecedented time of uncertainty, we have gathered some tips and resources for Small-Medium Sized businesses (SMB):

Take an inventory of your organization, inventory and customers
Have a clear idea of where you stand on all fronts, and consider all possible scenarios.
  • Employees:
    • Can some of your staff work-from-home?
    • Are some unable to perform their jobs unless they are physically present at work?
    • Do you have the proper tech, security and equipment for telecommuting?
    • How will you communicate clearly and in a timely manner to your employees to help mitigate fears?
  • Inventory:
    • How much inventory do you have available?
    • Who are your suppliers and are they affected by COVID-19?
    • What are your additional supplier options?
    • Will you have a surplus of inventory?
    • Can you get creative with what you offer? For example: restaurants switching to a family-style takeout menu, featuring food items in stock
  • Customers:
    • What are your customers’ expectations?
    • Are there deadlines that they are concerned about?
    • How are you communicating any changes in your process or policies?
    • Can some of your services be provided virtually?
    • How can you be a resource to your customers?
    • What do your customers need?
    • Is there an opportunity for you to shift your business focus (even temporarily) to meet customer needs during this difficult time?
    • Can you offer gift certificates or other services to customers?
Have a strong communication plan
Your clients, customers, employees, stakeholders and community are looking to you for guidance. How are you keeping them updated? Clear communication is critical to prevent the spread of misinformation.

Are you leveraging:
  • Social Media: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn
  • Company website
  • Company blog
  • Email campaigns (keeping in mind that a mass email may not be delivered to your customers if you are not using an email marketing system)
  • Text marketing
  • Messenger / Bots
  • Phone calls
  • Signage
  • Other

Be proactive now and for the future
The importance of clear communication to your customers and to the public is a top priority for us.

If you are a client and need support updating your website, please email ryan@thestackgrp.com or text 857-256-1295.  Even if website updates are not part of your contract, we can assist with publishing your (our clients) Coronavirus message to your website, free of charge.

Clients also have direct access to the editor of their website to make changes themselves. It is highly recommended that any updates you put on your website are blasted on social media and/or email. You can post short updates on these platforms and link back to your website for full information.

Finally, many of us are finding ourselves in a position where we have more time available than usual. If you are able to strategize about your company’s marketing, SEO, website or social media plans – we want to make that easier for you. Projects such as website design or redesign require business owner input, and this could be an ideal time to dedicate to that part of your business. Additionally, SEO projects can take about 3-6 months to take seed. Work done today on a website to increase traffic will generally be actualized in 3-6 months. While some may be slowing down efforts, now is an optimal time to prepare your business for the upswing that will happen in the coming months. If you would like more information about this, email ryan@thestackgrp.com or text 857-256-1295.

As always, we will do our best to support our clients and community. Our thoughts are with those who are affected by COVID-19 , both in health and in business.
